Regional Victoria
The Yarra Valley, Phillip Island, the Great Ocean Road, Daylesford. Regional Victoria has coastline, bushland and small towns worth seeing, and we'll take you there with someone who's keen to see them too.
A change of pace, out of the city.
Regional Victoria has coastline, bushland, and small towns within a day's drive of Melbourne. You might see the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road, the penguin parade on Phillip Island, wine country in the Yarra Valley, or the mineral springs of Daylesford.
Your support worker drives, plans the route, and knows the best stops along the way. That includes places that aren't in the tourist brochures, like the bakery in Lorne that does the best pies, the lookout just past Apollo Bay where you can see whales in winter, and the chocolate factory near Phillip Island.
These trips give you a full day to take in somewhere new, with no rushing between photo stops and someone who wants to be there as much as you do.

What a regional trip includes.
Every regional trip is planned around you, from the destination to the lunch stop.
Scenic drive & planned route
Your support worker knows the roads and the best scenic detours. The drive is part of the experience, with stops along the way.
You're driving the Great Ocean Road with the windows down. Your support worker pulls over at a lookout near Kennett River and you spot a koala in the trees above the carpark.
Local experiences & attractions
We book entry to the attractions you want to see. Penguin parades, wildlife parks, lavender farms, maze gardens, whatever catches your interest in the region.
You're watching the penguins waddle up the beach at Phillip Island as the sun goes down. Your support worker has the hot chips ready for the walk back to the car.
Regional lunch stops
Regional trips mean eating somewhere you wouldn't find unless someone showed you. Your support worker knows the local favourites.
You're sitting in a Daylesford cafe with a wood-fired pizza that's somehow better than anything in Melbourne. The main street is quiet and there's a bookshop next door you want to check out.
Comfortable pacing
Regional trips can be long days. We build in rest stops, quiet moments, and downtime so you're never running on empty. The day adapts to your energy.
After walking the trail at the Twelve Apostles, you find a bench overlooking the ocean. You sit there for twenty minutes watching the waves. Nobody's in a hurry.
Small town exploring
The towns between destinations are worth a stop: op shops, bakeries, craft stores and the locals who run them.
You stop in a small town on the way to the Yarra Valley and find an antique shop with a box of vintage records. You walk out with three you've been looking for.
Door-to-door transport
Your support worker picks you up from home and drops you back. No figuring out regional trains or bus connections. Just settle in and enjoy the scenery.
You're home by 7pm with a bag of local produce, a phone full of photos, and the kind of tiredness that comes from a good day.

Get StartedWhat a regional Victoria trip costs.
What it costs
Pricing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. Funding covers the support worker's time and travel. You pay any entry fees and food, so the total depends on how long you're out for and whether it falls on a weekday, evening, weekend, or overnight. If you don't have a relevant plan category, you can pay fee-for-service instead. Either way, the cost is confirmed with you in writing before the trip is booked.
Am I eligible?
Regional day trips are usually funded under Assistance with Social & Community Participation, a Core Supports category. If your plan includes it, a trip out to the Yarra Valley or the Great Ocean Road can be booked. Your support coordinator can check whether it's in your plan, and fee-for-service is available if you don't have an NDIS plan.
