Movie & TV Screenings

Opening nights, IMAX sessions, rooftop cinemas, and ACMI screenings. The big screen experience with someone who loves film as much as you do.

What this looks like

Movie & TV Screenings

Melbourne has plenty of places to see a film. IMAX at the Melbourne Museum for blockbusters. ACMI at Fed Square for curated screenings and retrospectives. Rooftop Cinema on Swanston Street in summer. The Astor in St Kilda for double features and classic film nights. Moonlight Cinema in the Royal Botanic Gardens when the weather's right.

You might want to catch the latest Marvel film on opening night, see a Studio Ghibli retrospective at ACMI, or spend a warm evening at an outdoor screening. The outing is built around what you want to watch and how you want to watch it.

Your support worker knows film. They can debate Marvel timelines, recommend hidden gems, and sit through a three-hour director's cut without checking their phone. It's a cinema trip with someone who's there because they want to be.

What we include

What a screening outing includes.

Film selection together

You pick what to watch. Your support worker shares what's coming up across Melbourne's cinemas, and you choose the screenings that interest you most.

Venue and seating sorted

We book the right cinema with the right seating. Accessibility needs, preferred rows, whether you want IMAX or a smaller boutique cinema. All handled beforehand.

Transport door to door

Pickup from home, dropped at the cinema, and driven home afterwards. Evening screenings mean no public transport in the dark.

Pre-Show and post-show

Dinner before the film or dessert after. Your support worker builds the evening around the screening so it feels like a proper outing with time either side.

Comfort planning

Outdoor cinemas need blankets and layers. Loud action films need the right seats. Your support worker plans for the details that make the experience comfortable.

Someone to talk about it with

Half the fun of a film is talking about it afterwards. Your support worker is matched to your taste, so the post-movie conversation is part of the experience.

On the day

A screening, start to finish.

Your support worker picks you up around 5pm. You've chosen the new sci-fi film at IMAX, so you head into the city with time to grab ramen at a place near the museum. You eat while debating whether the trailer looked promising or gave too much away. At the cinema, you grab popcorn and find your seats. The screen is enormous and the sound hits you in the chest. Afterwards, walking back to the car, you're pulling apart the plot and arguing about the ending. Your support worker reckons the twist was obvious; you disagree. The conversation continues all the way home.

Get Started
Cost, eligibility & getting started

Cost, funding and where we work.

What it costs

Pricing follows the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. The amount depends on the type of support and whether your screening falls on a weekday, evening, weekend, or overnight. If you don't have a relevant plan category, you can pay fee-for-service. Cost is always confirmed with you in writing before the experience starts.

Am I eligible?

Cinema outings and screening nights are usually funded under Assistance with Social & Community Participation, a Core Supports category. If your plan includes it, the outing can be funded through it. A support coordinator can help check, and fee-for-service is available if you don't have a current plan.

Where we work

We're based in Thomastown and cover Greater Melbourne, including the northern, western, and eastern suburbs, for IMAX, ACMI, rooftop, and outdoor cinema screenings. Many respite experiences extend into regional Victoria too, and premieres further afield can be planned as an overnight experience.

How to start

Tell us what you want to see and we'll handle the logistics. We match you with a support worker who likes the same films and shows, and book your first screening.
